A revolutionary helmet: the DGT will whisper in motorists’ ears
The idea belonged to Jorge Ordás, Deputy Director-General of Mobility and Technology Management of the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT). Whispering the warnings and instructions of the body in real time to motorists’ ears. “Something is happening here and now” will be heard in the helmet, and it will be the voice of DGT 3.0.
The grea digital Traffic platform, set up to provide information as soon as any event related to traffic and road safety takes place, is growing at a steady rate.
This information tool feeds on anonymous data from the road. These arrive via V-16 lights, connected cones, GPS navigation systems, mobile applications and towing vehicles, and the DGT then redistributes the message. The aim is to warn road users of any anomaly that happens on them.
