At Vodafone Business we provide the project with our experience as a telecommunications operator specialising in IoT and 5G and the Vodafone Automotive experience as a provider of the major European car manufacturers in connected car projects, such as Internet in the Car and safety services.
Vodafone today connects over 18.3 million cars from major European manufacturers, and more than 150 million assets across Europe.
This year we have opened the Malaga innovation hub where more than 50 people work on developing platforms related to road safety at a European level, as well as offering their experience, best practices and use cases which are worked on across Europe.
The platform brings together information and acts as a broker by receiving information from various actors of the mobility ecosystem and sending it in real time to any actors interested in receiving this information.
Information is always anonymized and geolocated when sent. This is an open source-based platform which is developed in accordance with European standards.
This is a high availability cloud structure which follows the best practices in cybersecurity. It is securely connected to the IoT networks of the various market operators. The information is reliable and verified.
We would like to highlight that this is a platform which is already available and which will continue to evolve. Any actor of the mobility ecosystem can ask to connect to it and we will support them throughout the process.
